Hi. I originally belong to Kolkata. This programme provided me with a unique opportunity to travel to a remote village in Bardhaman and study the lifestyle of the people. The villagers were warm, passionate and generous, especially when it came to their food, culture and traditions. We soaked in all the goodness with the promise of revisiting them in the coming years.

Having never experienced rural life, its pitfalls and challenges, I approached the Sashi Rajagopal Rural Immersion Project with a pinch each of apprehension and caution. However, the next seven days I spent at "Akalpoush" were among the most educative, informative and insightful phases of my life. Being able to experience rural life to its core, its problems, deficiencies and developing abilities to overcome the same taught me to value the simple things of life, understand their preciousness and utilize the immense potential that lies at the core of everything.
