Business Correpondent
We met with Shri Bikash Roy, the business correpondent or Mitr from SBI Gurap, Kalna.
The Business Correspondent from SBI Gurap, Shri Bikash Roy, said that the platform used in the CSP is FIA technology. The updates that are made on field are automatically updated in the bank’s records. Other than savings bank accounts, and term deposits, insurance premium for Jeevan Mangal and Bhagya Lakshmi from LIC, are also collected by them. There is no loan monitoring mechanism with them because of which they have to direct customers wanting to avail credit to the bank branches.
They have arranged for awareness camps for customers regarding banking facilities and pension related benefits. The other intended beneficiaries are recipients of Kanyashree, SC/ST and minorities’ stipend for ages 6 and above, MGNREGs wages and pension available to widows at the death of their husbands. There are also 3 SHG groups registered under him.
Shri Bikash Roy is also a voluntary member of Siksha-Niketan an NGO working towards providing microinsurance to four groups of people- for educational purposes, medicines, women employability and farming skill and knowledge development.
